Y ahí se hallaba esa vieja casa... Construida a fines del siglo XX, lo que la hacía tener casi un siglo de edad. Los árboles eran los más altos del vecindario, y el más alto de todos era un enorme cedro de 5 pisos de altura donde las urracas anidaban. Todos los árboles estaban vivos, aunque tenían muchas ramas secas. Había al menos 13 árboles grandes en ese pequeño jardín, y mucha hiedra y matorrales. Las raíces de los árboles agrietaban los muros y los pisos de las terrazas. En la cochera había salido hierba muy alta entre las losas de cemento, y las macetas de las parede

il grillo e buon cantore

El grillo vino desde las noches de mi infancia a decirme secretos que sólo él conocía, pero no siempre es fácil de entender lo que te dice alguien que canta con las piernas y hace inolvidables las noches de obscuridad absoluta en el jardín de hace 30 años, hace 50 años, hace 80 años. Con los secretos en mi bolsillo y el canto del grillo en una pulsera, caminé por el sendero de ladrillos que yo hice con las pisadas robadas al gato, y observé si el pasado también robado y trasladado en agua se podía convertir en futuro.
